The Group was created in January 1996 by Anita and Henry Schuster at the request of Dr. Doris Soroky, then President of the Jewish  Community Center of Southern Nevada, and Edythe Katz Yarchever, with Harry and  Helen Goldman, as co-chairs.

The Group's Mission is to create a support group and safe environment for the survivors of the Holocaust, helping them with their  claims for restitution from Germany and organizing a flourishing Speakers' Bureau on Holocaust programming in local schools, civic organizations and religious groups. The Group is also helping needy survivors in cooperation with JFSA.
